ABOUT PASTA JAY’S MOAB
Since opening in downtown Moab in 1992, Pasta Jay’s has brought authentic Italian food, family recipes, and warm hospitality to the heart of Utah’s red rock country.
Originally founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1988 by Jay Elowsky alongside his parents Jean and Lowell, Pasta Jay’s was built on generations of family recipes and a passion for bringing people together around great food and genuine hospitality.
Founder Jay Elowsky discovered his love for Italian cooking while working alongside his Aunt Kathy and Uncle Sonny at Sonny’s Pizza in Southern California. There, he learned traditional family recipes that had been passed down through generations and inspired the restaurant that would eventually become Pasta Jay’s.
After the success of the original Boulder location, Pasta Jay’s expanded to Moab in 1992—bringing homemade pasta, pizza, baked Italian specialties, cocktails, and classic comfort food to one of the most unique destinations in the American Southwest.
Located near Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, Pasta Jay’s Moab quickly became a favorite gathering place for locals, tourists, Jeep groups, rafting adventures, hikers, mountain bikers, and families exploring Utah’s canyon country.
Today, Pasta Jay’s Moab continues the tradition of authentic Italian hospitality with generous portions, family-friendly dining, handcrafted drinks, and the same family recipes that have defined Pasta Jay’s from the beginning.
Generations later, those original recipes still bring people together around the table—combining Italian tradition with the unforgettable spirit of Moab.
